Prey Lang Community Network: A statement on the rapid increase in forestry crimes
On 17 June 2019, Prey Lang Community Network of four provinces such as Kratie, Stung Treng, Preah Vihear, and Kampong Thom, released a statement on the increase of illegal logging and many illegal activities in the Prey Lang forest. The majority of illegal activities found in the Prey Lang forest is a large number of logs are being logged and transported per day, the forest within the sanctuary is being cleared by powerful people and newcomers, gold mining, and etc. In the statement, they called on government, Ministry of Environment, and all relevant stakeholders to take action to prevent the illegal logging.
